The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice....

One very common limiting belief that I come across in clients is around body image - feeling less than or out of reach of the "society expectations".
My generation watched magazines in the 80's and 90's with the very thin models telling us that the normal was "skinny".
Imagine how that feels to somebody who has a belief they will never be good enough? Or my body is not beautiful?
Our words to / around our kids are so formative as they support or challenge the limiting beliefs already forming in their innocent minds.
My nine year old told me last night that she is being called fat at school - crying as she told me.
Although I feel I have the tools to help her through this, I felt mad!
Mad that these little minds are still being told by society that fat is a label and they should be measuring themselves against each other.
Whilst we cannot always protect our kids from the media and social "expectations" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - teach our kids that their bodies are miracles working to achieve greatness everyday.
Examine your own fears around body image so that our words never support a thought or fear in their mind that leads to them believing they are fat, chubby, less than or need to be measured in any way
A healthy body and mind can achieve a wonderful life and kids only believe otherwise if they learn it from us big people
